Phoenix was born from passion, a fire within, and a deep love for dance and community.

Growing up in Port Alberni’s local dance community gave me memories that I will always treasure. Dance was about so much more than steps, technique and performances. It was about friendships, laughter, belonging and the feeling of being part of something special. The parents had just as much fun being involved as the kids did, and the studio felt like family.

When I had my own daughter, I wanted to create that same kind of experience for her: a place where she could make memories every bit as meaningful and joyful as mine. From that dream, Phoenix was created.

For more than two decades, I have had the privilege of teaching dance here in Port Alberni. This community is my home, and Phoenix is filled with true local heart and soul. Over the years, I have watched many students grow, not only into accomplished dancers, but also into happy, healthy and successful people. Being part of their journeys has shown me just how powerful a positive dance environment can be.

At Phoenix, every dancer and every family is a valued part of our community. It is a place where everyone is welcome to share, support one another and feel that they truly belong. We believe in kindness, encouragement, fun and learning. We want our dancers to develop strong technique while also building confidence, discovering their passion and expressing themselves from the heart.

Phoenix is more than a place to learn dance. It is a place to grow, to laugh, to create lifelong memories and to become part of a family.
